3.East Dart, Sandy Hole Pass, Peat Pass, West Dart, Higher White Tor, Gunpowder Mills. 10 miles 17 km, 432m ascent Dartmoor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_8guH70RBA&feature=youtu.be2020:06:23

This circular walk on Dartmoor has an easy option and a hard option. The easy option is to keep away from the river on the main paths and look at the water from a distance. We opted for the much harder route, keeping much closer to the river banks which can be steep, rocky or boggy at times.

An excellent walk from Postbridge, up the East Dart, through Sandy Hole Pass, then over the peat pass to the West Dart and back past Brown's House, Lower White Tor, Higher White Tor, Longaford Tor and the Gunpoweder Mills. The Lich Way and then a track through the forest. 10.61 miles and 1284 feet of ascent. 17 km, 432m ascent on Dartmoor.

Above this pool the easier path moves away from the bank of the stream, much higher up the hillside. We keep as close to the stream as we can - select your path with care.
