This 8.5 mile walk starts from extensive car car parking space on the old aerodrome at Roborough.
The path off the moor goes under a splendid blue brick viaduct that at present is being renovated. Follow the side of the river down to Grenofen Bridge, where you cross the bridge to follow the north bank most of the way down to Waters Meet. You cannot cross here if the river is in flood, as the bridge doesn't span all the channels.
Head downstream till the mine waste shows the arsenic content, then follow the track inland and uphill away from the river. Once clear of the taller vegetation a path leads off to the right until at a junction of paths, a right turn takes you down to a gate and a track leading off the moor. Keep straight on when you get to a narrow country lane, then take a right fork signed to hatch mill.
Here the path continues alongside the river, through bamboo filled woodland, until a drive way brings you back onto a narrow lane, A sharp left turn uphill brings you to a path going off at the next corner. Right when you get to a road, then another path left takes you through fields heading for the tower of Buckland Monachorum Church. Keep left of the hedge at a very muddy farmyard to a style right in the corner and out onto a village road.
The final stretch of path takes you up the side of the churchyard, and continues fairly straight, over a number of styles till you return to the Moor. Head over the road and right to retrace your outgoing route back to your starting point.
