Height and weight by themselves are not a good indicator of the need to loose weight.
It is the proportion of fat to muscle and bone that matters. If you get plenty of exercise ( few of us do!) then your muscles should have a thin covering of fat to give you a nice body shape, but if you didn't exercise your body will replace the muscle with fat. You would look similar, be a similar weight, but would not be healthy.
Step1. Increase your exercise until you get regular exercise every day - equivalent to walking about 12 to 14 miles every week.
Eat normally for a couple of months with the new exercise regime.
Then start to assess how much extra fat you are carrying, and reduce the fat and sugar in your diet until your weight starts to drop, but you maintain your fitness and exercise.
Give yourself a target of several months to slowly reduce your weight. Reduction cannot be achieved in a month or less.
