14.All manufactured foods : Glutenfree

The full text of the book published by Hodder and Stoughton, updated.

The Coeliac Society in the UK produces a food list each year of manufactured foods that do not contain gluten.

You cannot always tell by looking at the contents label on the food packet.

Wheat flour may be used to help the food pass through machinery, to stop food sticking to baking trays or as a bulking agent to help distribute spices within a mixture.

This wheat flour is not declared on the contents label.

Food lists produced by supermarkets, chemists shops and health food stores often contain errors.

You are strongly advised to purchase a copy of the food list from the Coeliac Society and to keep it up to date.
