119.Oatmeal porridge Recipe: Low Fat, Low Sugar
The best porridge is made by simmering medium ground oatmeal overnight beside a peat fire. The quickest is made from oat-flakes in a microwave.
Per person
2 oz / 50g medium ground oatmeal
1/4 pint / 150 ml water
- Soak the oatmeal in the water overnight.
- In the morning, simmer gently for 35 - 40 minutes until the porridge is soft and smooth.
- Salt to taste after cooking.
- Serve with a small amount of low-fat yogurt (not sugar).
