1 pint / 600 ml mutton stock
1 medium onion,well chopped
1 medium leek, washed well and cut into rings
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 small turnip or swede, chopped
salt to taste
fresh ground black pepper to taste
- Add all the ingredients to the stock. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for an hour.
- Garnish with chopped parsley
Serve with fresh wholemeal bread.
