I faced the same situation. I have suffered from bulimia for 15 years or more. Over the last few years I have started feeling really really tired. I have found out by chance that if I don't eat gluten the symptoms disappear completely. I have done the blood examination but I haven't been diagnosed with celiac disease. I honestly don't care too much about it. I feel completely well with a gluten free diet so I'll keep following it

I had bulimia for about 4 years and now that I am over it I have spent the last two years suffering from stomach cramps, bloating, constipation and a general sloggy feeling after eating.I was diagnosed (incorrectly in my opinion) with having IBS and now I'm trying a dairy free diet as they think I could be lactose intolerant. Well so far it has helped with the cramps, they have gone but I still get the bloated sloggy feeling. I see that you got told about wheat?? Maybe I'll have to cut that out too?? This is going to be hard as I'm already vegetarian, pretty much vegan now with the lactose intolerance

Hi--I was suffering from depression & apparent anorexia. Instead of realizing

I was "wasting away," I would say YEAH!! Now I can fit into a 4 instead of a 6!!

When I finally realized I needed to try to gain wt., I tried & tried but could not.

My Dad has celiac dis., & my sis thinks she has it.And I knew that bulgar wheat

and wheat bran had made me have bloating & gas in the past.So I did 3 things I had not tried.Taking Betaine HCl (hydrochloric acid supplement) at meals, taking an herb to help my estrogen levels (licorice drops) & going GLUTEN-FREE. I have gained about 6

pounds & am continuing, for the most part, to stay as gluten-free as I can. I do not

think I have celiac dis., but I thought it was worth a try.

By the way, I am a vegan. Most people do not realize that if they eat a lot of

red meat, they are getting all that rye, oats, barley & wheat, 2nd-hand.

I do not have diabetes, but probably am hypogycemic, so I am pretty bad off if

I wait too many hours between meals or don't have a well-balanced diet.

I hope you can try the gluten-free diet. My Dad has some problems when he

travels, but for most part does OK. And he is 88 yrs old, drives his own car, & goes

on mission trips out of the country at least once a year

Hi,

After seeing 6 doctors for constant EXTREME bloating and cramping as well as back and hip pain along with bladder discomfort as well as other symptons I don't normally have that start occurring during my cycle I finally found a doctor that seems like he wants to figure my issue out. He wants me tested for ciliac disease and from what I've read on here it seems my 10 years of bulimia (which he does NOT know about) may be the culprit if that is indeed what I have???? At this point I don't even care what the diagnosis is I just want my life back! I have been living in fear for months that I may have ovarian cancer since all my symptoms fit that to at T but my ultra sound came back negative and that is when the doctors decided to sort of brush me off. Does anyone have any advice for me as to what else to look for or ask the doctor about
