Thank you, I will definitely try my hardest this time, I hate being stuck in during the summer! I am starting to feel a bit better again, after cutting most of my wheat and gluten, and only indulging in a little goats cheese. I'll let you know how I get on.

Note the importance of cutting out ** All ** wheat and gluten. If this is the cause then only complete removal of gluten from your diet will allow your digestive system to recover and heal itself.

the Healthy Times bisquit would not work for a celiac due to the barley. That's the problem I've been running into....everything has barley in it, if it doesn't have wheat.

Just a warning to those celiac moms - check the lables of the Rice cerial - some have barley and malt flavoring in them. Gerber's rice cerial seems safe.

If you've never tried this, then worth a try. I've been registered coelic for the last 4 years, and have become quite partial to this. As it's brewed from sorghun instead of wheat, and has a sufficiently low gluten content my dietician has confirmed it is ok to drink.

I actually prefer the roasted taste to that of Irish Guinness...

Hi there,
have been completely gluten and wheat free for 10 days now, and have had no pain or cramping, less blood and mucas, and generally feel a bit better. Had roast potatoes and a gammon steak the other night, and symptoms seem to have come back again a bit today, but this also coincides with starting some herbal pills a chinese herbalist recommended, so am not quite sure which is responsible. Have decided to quit the herbal pills(after one day!) and see how I do. Guess improvement may be somewhat erratic to begin with anyway.

Good to hear that you are making some progress.
Remember that your digestive system will take time to heal even if you are avoiding the cause of the irritation, so keep your meals fairly plain and simply cooked.
Keep down the fat levels as well as these can be difficult to digest in a damaged system.

I would avoid pills unless you know the precise details of every ingredient.

Thanks for the advice! I have mostly been sticking to grilled vegetables, with fresh fish/meat and rice, fruit, and a little home made yoghurt.I think maybe the roast potatoes were a little hard to digest, will leave them alone for now.
I am going to try accupuncture instead of the pills. Might be worth a try!
